About
YouNeedRefills .com

A division of Wellspring Direct Primary Care, youneedrefills .com is a service seeking to improve access to needed medications and to help clients avoid missed doses of their medications because of issues related to access.

As a primary care provider I have heard many stories of patients who have been off of their medications, sometimes for months, because of inability to get appointments with primary care, lack of insurance, etc. Also, sometimes patients are off of their medications because they need labs, can’t afford a co-pay, or because they have an unpaid bill at their primary care clinic. Sometimes patients have moved and it is taking them some time to get an appointment with a primary care provider to continue to get their medications.

The purpose of youneedrefills.com is not to replace the primary care provider, but to bridge the gap for patients who, for one reason or another, cannot get in to be seen to get their refills.

While we don’t refill controlled substances or complicated and/or specialty medications, there are many medications that we do refill. Please see our FAQs for more information.

Patient FAQs

Q: What medications will you refill?

A: Most medications for common conditions that are prescribed in primary care.

Medications that are prescribed by certain specialists, such as complicated psych medications, some cardiology medications, or medications that require frequent monitoring, e.g., warfarin, are not eligible for refills through this website. Additionally, controlled substances (Medications that are Schedule II – V) are not eligible for refills through this website.

A: You need recent labs and a provable current prescription (verifiable through your pharmacy).

A: Depending on what’s needed, prescriptions can be sent to your pharmacy in 2-7 days. For example, if you’ve had labs recently and just can’t get into your provider, a prescription could be sent within 2-3 days. On the other hand, if you need labs first, these have to be ordered, you will need to have them draw, and the labs will need to be resulted. Depending on how quickly you have the labs completed, this process could take up to 7 days. However, if you’ve been out of your medication for months, then this is reasonable.

A: Patients who are unable to obtain refills via their primary care provider. They may:

Be on vacation.

Unable to afford their co-pay.

Don’t have insurance.

Owe an unpaid bill to their primary care office.

No. Patients pay a flat rate rate for the service and for each prescription requested.
